PhD Excursion 2014

After last year's excursion to North-Holland, this year we visited the United Kingdom from 23-25 March 2014 as part of CATO2 PhD network building in cooperation with the UK CCS Research Center (UKCCSRC).

The excursion started on the ferry from Rotterdam to Hull on Sunday 23 March 19.00 hours. We arrived in England on Monday 24 March at 8 o' clock and a bus was waiting for us. We visited one of the power plants of DRAX and we were impressed by the scale of the power plant. Drax is transforming itself into a predominantly biomass-fuelled generator through burning sustainable biomass in place of coal.
