Sorption and CT experiments

The long term integrity and sealing property of the cap rock associated with CO2 - exposure have been established by the following laboratory experiments: manometric sorption experiments, pendant drop wettability experiments, capillary pressure drainage and imbibition experiments, and rock mechanical experiments.

Experiments have been conducted with selected shale samples from the key site, well Q4-8, and the more readily available Mercian mud from Great-Britain and black shale from Belgium as analogue samples. Limited CT scans have also been performed.
