PhD thesis Alex Kirichek

On March 12, 2018 Alex Kirichek successfully defended his PhD thesis on the electro-kinetic and poro-elastic characterization of porous media.

Alex conducted his research at Delft University of Technology and his work presents a significant contribution to the theoretical understanding of the electrical and elastic behavior of reservoir rock upon drainage with either CO2 or Brine.

In addition to his theoretical work Alex conducted a relevant set of experiments that confirmed the value of the models and proved on a lab scale, that changes in electrical and elastic properties can be related to changes in CO2 and Brine saturation in the reservoir.
