Description

We gladly would like to invite you for an online panel discussion, where we will zoom in on the commercial model and discuss the road to a bankable CCS value chain.

The webinar is hosted by TNO and Deloitte.

After a long period of discussions, CCS appears to finally gain momentum, with both Porthos and Northern Lights progressing through the construction phase. Following these landmark projects, emitters throughout Europe are deciding on carbon capture investments and other transport and storage projects are progressing their development phases.

Nevertheless, the financing of CCS projects remains a challenge for the private sector, with regulatory frameworks diverging and project risk allocation subject to negotiations. The business case is not always profitable, even with subsidies and the current EU ETS prices. However, CCS projects might also lead to new business opportunities.

In this webinar we would like to focus on these topics, discussing the state of play in the Dutch market, and explore how additional revenue streams, could possibly make a profitable and bankable business case.

Webinar agenda:

  • Introduction by Brigitte Jacobs (CATO Director)
  • Discussion on commercial aspects of CCS projects
    • Regulatory frameworks and bankability considerations
      (Deloitte – Michiel Engelaar)
    • Cost aspects related to building a CO2 capture plant
      (Attero – Matthijs Koorstra)
    • Dutch SDE++ funding model for CCS and commercial implications for CO2 transport and storage
      (EBN – Stijn Santen)
  • Discussion about revenue streams to CCS projects, now and in the future
