Leading figures from Dutch energy world sign CCS letter to Parliament.

More than 30 prominents from the world of energy appeal to the Dutch Parliament by signing an open letter about the necessity of fast and energetic implementation in the Netherlands of Carbon capture and storage (CCS). This Open letter is published in NRC Handelsblad on 2 September 2009. The immediate cause of this action is the discussion in parliament on 3 September of a letter by the ministers Van der Hoeven and Cramer about governmental CCS policy. The signatories of the letter find saving energy and sustainable energy very important but they find CCS just as important as a means to save the climate. Signatories are CEO's of TNO, KEMA, ECN, NUON, E.ON and many other energy companies, representatives of climate and energy platforms and a large number of scientists from various universities.
